Products and Services
Products & Services
Rogue Herald Communications has developed several web shells for our
customer's web sites. These shells differ from the standard offerings
of web templates in that a template is a set of tools and elements that
assist the user in developing the site. The products that Rogue Herald
offers are dynamic web sites that provide a structure for the pages to
go in. In fact, it is possible to use many of these templates to
develop or update the sites hosted in our systems.
So how does it work?
What does this mean for our customers?
- It means that your site can be created quickly with a proven,
dynamic structure.
- It means that you maintain control of your web site, after all
you own it!
- It means that you have long term assurance about the site
- Very simply it means that you can have a web site without the
normal worries associated with having someone else create it!
The Setup:
We install our shell in a standard hosting site, either ours or someone
you select. The initial site configuration will be set up with
instructions to the rest of the site as to the elements and functions
you wish to use as well as things the system will need to know about
your site and your server.

The Initial Load:
Typically Rogue Herald will assist the customer in developing the look
and feel of the site. Colors, web elements (backgrounds, menu buttons,
banners, etc.) will be selected or created in consultation with the
customer. The initial content will also be created at this time and
several standard pages will be uploaded to the site. The more computer
savvy customers may choose to do this function themselves!

The
Maintenance:
The web server is maintained by a third party, if the customer has
opted to use a Rogue Herald hosting site, any problems will be reported
to us, if another hosting company has been selected, they will be
contacted directly. Rogue Herald maintains the shell (the code that
makes everything work) and can provide updates and new features as they
become available.

Web Page Updates:
Once the site is set up, the customer usually makes changes to the
site. Some elements (Menus, Venue Schedules, Inventory Lists, etc.) are
always updated by the customer (or someone they designate). Other
updates such as additional pages and major changes to the site can be
done by Rogue Herald, the customer or a third party chosen by the
customer. Remember, the whole idea is that it is YOUR site, you own it.
you control it.

Special
Needs
and Custom Programming:
Special needs generally fall within two categories; those that can be
accomplished within a web page and those that require changes or
additions to the shell. If the needs can be met within a web page the
process described in Web Page Updates applies. If the customer has
needs that span pages, require database functionality or are very
complex Rogue Herald will work with the customer to develop the changes
while maintaining the usability and customer control.
